Botox

Botox injection contains botulinum toxin type A, which is produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Botulinum toxin type A causes muscle paralysis until the nerve develops new endings to communicate with the muscles.

Botox injections are usually administered into the muscle above and between the eyebrows in order to temporarily relax and paralyze these muscles. Botox is most commonly used cosmetically to improve the appearance of vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.

It is also useful for preventing excessive sweating. This is because; Botox prevents the nerve signals from reaching the sweat glands. For example, for this purpose, the Botox is injected into the skin in the armpit, hand and foot region.
